The Pavilion at The Inner Temple

The Pavilion is a high-specification, 600-capacity seasonal venue set within the Garden at The Inner Temple. Installed for a fixed summer period, it forms a striking focal point within three acres of landscaped grounds, combining the atmosphere of an outdoor celebration with the structure and comfort of a fully serviced event space.

For 2026, the Pavilion will be in place from Tuesday 16 June to Thursday 9 July. Weekday hire is typically available from 6.00pm to 10.30pm, with selected midweek dates offering early 4.00pm starts. Weekend hire runs from 11.00am to 9.00pm.

The Pavilion (formerly the Marquee)

As the newly branded evolution of the former Marquee, the Pavilion delivers scale, presence and infrastructure in equal measure. Designed for larger receptions, corporate summer events, weekend celebrations and gala occasions, it includes integrated facilities such as restrooms, cloakroom provision and a dedicated feature bar that anchors the space and enhances guest experience throughout the event.

A generous decking area extends the Pavilion into the surrounding Garden, creating a natural threshold between covered space and open lawns. This design allows guests to move effortlessly between interior and exterior settings, maintaining a sense of openness while enjoying the comfort and structure of the Pavilion.

On weekday evenings, hire extends to 10.30pm, allowing the Pavilion to host the full programme within a single setting. For weekend celebrations, where hire concludes at 9.00pm, events may continue inside the Hall and its connecting rooms for those wishing to extend the evening.

Whether as the primary venue throughout or as the starting point for a wider celebration, the Pavilion allows the tone of the event to evolve seamlessly while remaining within the estate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time can the Marquee be hired?

Monday – Friday the Marquee is available to hire from 6.00pm-10.30pm. Weekend hire is available between 11.00am-9.00pm. Extensions are available on request, but not guaranteed.

Do you include any furniture in the hire of the Marquee?

Yes, we include four sets of garden furniture with an umbrella and four chairs each. Extra furniture can be hired in at an additional cost.

Do you have security?

The estate has 24 hour onsite security. If you require additional security at the Garden gate, this can be arranged for an additional cost.

Are fireworks permitted in the Garden?

Yes fireworks are permitted, but only by one of our nominated suppliers.

Are there any restrictions on the type of games and entertainment we can have in the Garden and Marquee?

Amplified music is permitted in the garden but must not exceed 73 decibels. We allow bouncy castles, inflatables, garden games, fairground stalls, and team-building activities, but all games and entertainment must be approved in advance by the Head Gardeners. Please note that open flames, smoke effects, confetti cannons, and similar items are not permitted. We have a list of approved suppliers we work with, but you are welcome to use suppliers not on our list, subject to approval.

Is the Marquee available for Dry Hire?

Yes, the marquee is available for dry hire, subject to other events taking place in the building. We work exclusively with GreenLeaf for the cuisines they specialise in, as they are our preferred partner for Asian catering. However, we are open to working with other caterers for different cuisines, subject to approval.
