Dinners & Lunches
Whether you are hosting a discreet dinner for valued guests or a formal banquet beneath stained glass and chandeliers, the setting is guaranteed to impress.
From first welcome through to the final course, your experience will reflect the quality, precision and attention to detail expected of one of London’s most distinguished venues.
Evening private dining is available for gatherings from 20 guests, allowing for intimate and focused hospitality. For larger occasions, the Inner Temple Hall seats up to 276 guests for formal dining beneath chandeliers and historic detailing.
Lunches are particularly well-suited to the Parliament Chamber and Luncheon Room, offering natural light and a refined daytime setting. The Hall is not available for midweek daytime hire.
Food and service are delivered to a consistently high standard, with seasonal menus and carefully executed presentation contributing to an elevated dining experience.
How private dining typically unfolds at The Inner Temple
Guests are typically welcomed into a separate reception space for drinks before being invited through to the dining room, allowing a natural transition from arrival to dinner. For smaller private dining events, the experience may take place within one room throughout.
For evening events in the Hall, the atmosphere deepens as daylight fades and chandeliers illuminate the room, creating a striking setting for speeches and toasts.
Lunches and smaller dinners offer a more intimate pace, with room layouts designed to support conversation and attentive service throughout.
Menus and culinary approach
Menus are built around seasonal British produce, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and precise execution.
Evening private dining features multi course menus suited to formal hosted dinners and celebratory occasions. Lunches may take a lighter approach, with fresh seasonal dishes designed for daytime entertaining.
Wine selections and bespoke drinks pairings can be incorporated, alongside tailored drinks packages where required.
Your event manager will work closely with you to shape the menu format, timings and service style. Dietary requirements and cultural preferences are accommodated as standard.

Planning considerations
Private dining takes place across the venue throughout the week, with room availability varying by time of day. The Parliament Chamber and Luncheon Room are available for daytime dining, while the Hall and Drawing Room are reserved for evening events and weekend hire. Modern meeting rooms may be adapted for private dining throughout the day.
Dining layouts can be arranged on round tables or straight tables, depending on your format and guest numbers. Our team will guide you on the most effective configuration to ensure the room is set correctly for your event.
Evening dates, particularly for the Hall, are secured well in advance, and early discussion is recommended for larger dining occasions or key calendar periods.
